The Illinois Marathon was on April 26, 2014 in Champaign, Illinois. I was on a team with my mom (Sue), sister (Laura) and another great lady (Lacy.) I ran first for 6.5 miles and passed the belt to my mom at mile 6.5. Between where I turned on the Nike+ app and finished at the car, I got a personal best for a 10K of 14:48. Just past the half way mark, my mom passed the belt to Laura then she passed it to Lacy for the last piece. We ran across the finish line together as a team.
The weather was great when I started, but by the time we crossed the finish line, it was getting very warm. The temperature that day went from 46 degrees to 83. It was a shock when we left Champaign in 83 degree weather with the A/C on, then got out of the car in Joliet where it was back down in the 50s. Brrr.
The whole trip was great and we had SO much fun. I can't wait to go back for the Half Marathon in Chicago in July.
